As soon as Fantasy Fest ends, the calendar of events really kicks into full gear in Key West. You’ll barely have time to recover from the Fantasy Fest Parade before Parrotheads’ Meeting of the Minds festivities begin. If you’re a Jimmy Buffett acolyte, a trip to Key West’s Margaritaville bar and restaurant is a must, so why not stay at a nearby hotel during your visit.
If you’re in town during the Parrotheads Festival, we also recommend Fury Water Adventure’s Parrothead Sunset Sail with The Cory Heydon Band. It’s a must do! Now, here’s where to stay.
La Concha Resort, 430 Duval St.
A stay at the historic La Concha Resort is a fantastic way to experience Key West. The six story hotel on the heart of Duval Street is the tallest in Key West and is mentioned in the opening lines of Hemingway’s To Have And Have Not. Today, it serves as a luxurious resort with a rooftop pool and the best views of Key West Harbor you’ll find on the island. Enjoy beautiful accommodations and watch the sunset at the Top of La Concha with a delicious margarita in hand. And remember, you’re only steps from Margaritaville.
Pegasus Inn, 501 Duval St.
Located in the center of the action on the corner of Duval St. and Southard St., the Pegasus Inn is a funky, budget minded hotel with a rooftop pool for sunning. You’re steps away from the Green Parrot, Mr. Z’s and, of course, Margaritaville.
Heron House, 512 Simonton St.
A charming bed and breakfast one block off of Duval Street, the Heron House is a desirable destination for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing Key West vacation while still being only steps from the action. Enjoy a beautiful home away from home in this 23 room house with swimming pool.
